About First Pick Handmade:
Janna Hurtzig, of the local Winterluxe Recycled Cashmere label, saw a need for a local fashion and accessories only show like First Pick Handmade. She continues to curate the show with the goal to create access for consumers to Canadian designers. Since 1998, Hurtzig has been part of Vancouver’s handmade scene in numerous roles such as vendor and show coordinator, so she knows what makes for a good experience is for both the designer and the consumer. Hurtzig has been a co-organizer for Shiny Fuzzy Muddy, one of Vancouver’s most popular and successful Holiday markets currently celebrating their 16th year. For the past 11 years, Hurtzig has sold her handmade designs at popular shows across Canada.
