During Vancouver Fashion Week F/W 2014, I was asked to lend a hand to a local designer - a few items were needed to complete her runway looks - small request but a important one. Once at the venue I was to meet the vivacious Styleby Dona and hand over my goody bag which contained a vintage Schiaparelli bonnet, delicate lace and pearl button gloves and a few hand rolled silk scarves.
I have always been an avid fan of the “less is more” philosophy when it comes to fashion, and looking at the Fall 2014 designer collections from New York, London, Milan, and Paris, I would say the fashion industry is a fan as well. From Edun to Helmut Lang, runways were filled with simple yet striking silhouettes, monochromatic color schemes, and fresh takes on minimalism. This simplistic approach to fall fashion gave the clothing a true quality of wearable luxury.
