It is the LITTLE things that count. From the moment you walk into Mayhew Sherwood Florists Ltd, this unique boutique florist shop, in Kitsilano, it is obvious that the owner Vicki Siu, Manager Sharleena Lagasse and colleagues Amanda Colquhoun and Debbie Lewis believe in a sense of community. All customers are treated as family and not just a transaction.

They have built a rapport with each other that creates an environment that is so inviting and positive to their customers.

“Being my own boss is definitely a nice perk, but what makes it great is having an awesome team standing with you.” ~ Vicki

Kevin, one of their regular clients, comes in every Friday to buy carnations for girls in the neighbourhood. He enjoys his conversations with the ladies in the store, he brightens their day with his positive energy, and then he continues to pay it forward by spreading his act of kindness throughout Kitsilano.

Vicki believes it is important to support the local business economy. They receive fresh flowers at least 2X/week with most products grown in B.C. and with each floral design they provide tags stating where the flowers were grown.

Custom ordering, greater knowledge about the products, providing a high level of service for their customers, are all the LITTLE things that make a BIG difference when it comes to excellent customer service and repeat business.

“One of the fundamentals to any retail business is human connection.” ~ Sharleena

This socially conscious florist shop wraps their bouquets in unread Coffee News Flyers. They also have a FREE ‘LOVE ME PILE’ of plants placed outside every night for people to take home and care for them during their final days or perhaps give them new life.

Mayhew Sherwood Florists look after every occasion whether it is Bridal, Sympathy, Corporate, special days like Valentine’s & Mother’s Day, or the more modern phenomenon ‘Lonely Bouquet Day’. Another feature at this flower shop is the Terrarium Bar where you can create your own designs while having a LITTLE chat with “Putters” their Celebrity Mini Parrot.

It is true. It always comes back to how someone made you feel. In the floral business…Mayhew Sherwood Florists know that it is the LITTLE things that count!
