The all new 2015 Lincoln MKC was introduced to me at an invitational only event titled Savour the City which encompassed a test drive in trendy Yaletown complete with a fine dining at the Hamilton St. Grill.

Small premium utility vehicles are Canada’s fastest growing segment and the Lincoln MKC does have the goods to delivery.

Many of the midsize SUVs today do look similar, but the Lincoln MKC has an unusually high belt line with sharp distinct lines and signature front grill that does differentiate itself from the pack.

My all white test model had the premium 2.3 Ecoboost four cylinder engine making 285 horsepower and 305 pound-fee of torque. Very impressive for a four cylinder, with reasonable milage rating of 12.9 L/100 km city and 9.2 L/100 km on the highway. Remember, crossovers and SUV’s are not light weights.

Where the Lincoln MKC really shines is the interior of fine leather and finishing. Tastefully trimmed with aluminum throughout the doors and dash, my passengers especially admired the full length sunroof to appreciate the towering views of Yaletown’s old and new architecture.

For those living in a stylist urban setting such as Vancouver and searching for a luxurious crossover, the Lincoln MKC should be on your list. Prices start at $39,940. Competition is the Audi Q3, BMW X3, and Porsche Macan.

After the test drive, we all experienced a fabulous dinner at the Hamilton St Grill. Where for many years, Executive Chef / Owner Neil Wyles has been offering superb steaks and seafood.

My three course meal started with the sherry accented local mushroom soup. Followed by the certified Angus New York Steak with brandy pepper cream sauce and for desert vanilla cream brulee.

Additional menu options include the seared halibut filet with roasted potatoes, asparagus and béarnaise, duck breast with garlic and cherry demi glace and grilled pork rack chop with bacon jus. With an extensive wine list, it was a perfect dining experience.

Arriving in style in the all new Lincoln MKC and dining at the Hamilton St Grill is what luxury living is all about here in Vancouver.
